G6-300 OPT System.
Invenco Group Ltd.

The G6-300 OPT (Outdoor Payment Terminal) is the next generation of Invenco’s all-in-one G6 range.

Outdoor environments are harsh on devices, from scorching desert conditions where solar loading can exceed 70°C, to arctic conditions where it can be -30°C. Whether in the rain, dust, snow or ice, the touch screen, printer, and keypad are all designed to function reliably. The materials chosen can resist UV and petrochemical attack as well as pass the tough IK8 impact criteria. The device also meets stringent fire standards and does not present a fire hazard, even if physically attacked and damaged.

Layered over these usability and environmental factors is the embedded security designed into the device. Ultra-secure chipsets are used, loaded with encryption keys that interface with the banking system. These are protected by cascading layers of physical and digital protection to prevent organised crime from gaining access. While the exact security details are confidential, the G6-300 became one the first devices in the world to achieve the PCi-5 security protocol.

The G6-300 incorporates multiple methods for payments, including contactless payments from chipped cards, mobile devices and watches. This is further supported by the underlying secure cloud services. Customers can now change screen content remotely while strictly maintaining security. This was previously impossible without individual site visits to manually upgrade thousands of devices. Our customers have never had this much creative freedom with their own customer engagement.

This is without a doubt the most complex product system I have ever worked on! The G6-300 was a Bronze Award winner in the New Zealand Best Awards , 2020.
